The excitement is palpable as the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch soon, with eager fans already getting a sneak peek at its final design. Dive in to discover more about this eagerly anticipated handheld.
Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for a 2025 release, and with a Direct scheduled for today, April 2nd, anticipation is at an all-time high. However, Nintendo might have already given us a glimpse into what the Switch 2 has in store before the official Direct, including a sneak peek at a key feature.
Nintendo recently launched its new smartphone app, Nintendo Today, designed to keep players updated with the latest news and game information directly from their mobile devices. Sharp-eyed fans have noticed that the app's promotional images on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store include a clear reference to the "Nintendo Switch 2," promising daily updates on news, game info, videos, comics, and more.
A closer look at these images reveals what appears to be the final design of the Nintendo Switch 2, showcasing its revamped Joy-Cons and confirming the presence of the mysterious C button on the right Joy-Con. Initially, when the Switch 2 was teased in January, the new button beneath the Home button was merely a black square, sparking speculation about its function—whether it might introduce a new social feature or a sensor. Thanks to the detailed image on the Nintendo Today app, we now know it's officially a C button. Its specific function, however, is expected to be fully disclosed during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
