Supercell's Boat Game Launches: Closed Alpha Begins

Author : Jack Mar 13,2025

Supercell, the hit mobile game developer, has broken its recent lull with the release of Boat Game, a new title debuting with a surreal trailer and closed alpha. While initial footage suggests a blend of seafaring and third-person shooting, reminiscent of Fortnite, the intriguing surreal imagery hints at a deeper, potentially more complex gameplay experience.

While unlikely to be a horror game in disguise, the potential for more than meets the eye is exciting. Even if the surreal elements prove to be purely aesthetic, the core gameplay—a colorful, action-packed battle royale-style third-person shooter incorporating both land and sea combat—is already intriguing. The possibility of transitioning between land and sea, or even separate modes, adds another layer of anticipation.

Supercell's foray into the third-person shooter genre is a noteworthy development, and the unique land-and-sea setting is a refreshing take on the battle royale formula. Notably, this is the first Supercell game announced exclusively via Bluesky, marking a departure from their traditional Twitter announcements.

Speculation is inevitable with any new Supercell release, but hopes are high that Boat Game will enjoy a longer lifespan than some of their previous, less successful titles.
