Starfield PS5 Release Hinted by PlayStation Logo in Development Build
Speculation that Starfield will soon be confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 intensified over the weekend after eagle-eyed fans noticed a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo was attached to a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield. Although the Creation was swiftly removed, the community is buzzing with speculation that Bethesda's sci-fi epic, previously exclusive to PC and Xbox, might soon grace the PS5.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

The discovery has led fans to wonder if Bethesda is gearing up for a major content update or even a new expansion to coincide with Starfield's potential PS5 launch. Following the lukewarm reception of the Shattered Space expansion, Bethesda has been relatively quiet about Starfield. However, the gaming community is hopeful that Microsoft's anticipated summer showcase might shed more light on the game's future.
Bethesda has teased "exciting things" in store for Starfield this year, amidst growing player frustration over a lack of updates and communication. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to the game, promising at least one more story expansion post-Shattered Space. In an interview with the YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard expressed the studio's ambition to release annual story expansions for Starfield "for hopefully a very long time."

Starfield launched in September 2023 as Bethesda's first new intellectual property in years and its first mainline single-player game since Microsoft's acquisition of parent company ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN's review of Starfield awarded it a 7/10, praising its expansive roleplaying quests and solid combat mechanics despite various challenges.
In January, Microsoft's gaming chief, Phil Spencer, hinted at the possibility of Starfield coming to PS5. Reports from March 2024 suggested that both Starfield and MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were under consideration for PS5. While Indiana Jones has been confirmed for a PS5 release in spring 2025, Starfield remains unconfirmed, though Spencer's comments have kept the speculation alive.
Several Xbox titles are already available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment. Microsoft also publishes Minecraft on PlayStation and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Forza Horizon 5 is also slated for a PS5 release. There are even whispers that Microsoft might finally bring Halo to PlayStation after years of exclusivity.

Spencer has explained that Xbox's multiplatform strategy is partly driven by the need to boost Microsoft's gaming revenue, especially after the massive $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In an August statement, Spencer emphasized the high expectations within Microsoft and the need to deliver strong results across consoles, PCs, and cloud platforms.
Bethesda Game Studios, with its 450-strong team, is currently juggling multiple projects, including Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile games, and external development partnerships.
