Fans eager to watch the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to visit Fortnite to stream the show ahead of its Disney+ launch.

Epic Games announced today how it plans to expand its Star Wars content, with the animated spinoff’s first two episodes premiering exclusively in Fortnite. This is part of the studio’s push to expand Star Wars offerings during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which will deliver themed rewards.

You can catch the first two episodes of Tales of the Underworld starring Asajj Ventress via the Star Wars Watch Party island beginning at 10 a.m. ET on May 2 – two days before the official Disney+ release. Epic also recommends linking your Epic Games and MyDisney accounts; eligible players will receive a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While Epic hints at future perks, it hasn’t detailed other advantages of connecting accounts.

“Disney and Epic are collaborating to shape the future of shared entertainment. This Star Wars initiative provides a preview of the interactive experiences we’re developing,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “Together, we are redefining immersive storytelling in Fortnite using one of the world's most popular franchises – expect much more in the future.”

Both episodes of Tales of the Underworld will be available until May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. The island also includes a Battle Arena where players can wield lightsabers and battle waves of adversaries. Watching both episodes unlocks an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series animated in The Clone Wars style, tracking the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official description reveals Ventress facing a new opportunity and an unexpected ally, while Bane must come to terms with his troubled history.

Disney's collaboration with Fortnite goes well beyond the upcoming Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, The Walt Disney Company invested $1.5 billion in Epic, signaling a long-term partnership. This investment will lead to ongoing collaboration and the introduction of more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits in Fortnite. Highlights from the next season include appearances by Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Fortnite has maintained its leading position since its 2017 debut. Its ongoing collaborations, such as the recent crossover with Sabrina Carpenter – which encouraged players to set aside their tools and hit the dance floor – help sustain its popularity.
