Stalker 2 Side Quest Strategy: Science's Call

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players exploring The Zone will encounter various NPCs, leading to quests ranging from minor tasks to substantial side missions like "For Science!". This mission involves Skif meeting Yaryk Mongoose, who needs help activating a second measuring device atop a silo. It's a relatively short quest rewarding players with a Malachite pass for access to STC Malachite facilities.

1. Initiating the "For Science!" Quest:

To begin, find Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, you'll hear Mongoose radio Skif, requesting a meeting at the building. Enter the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, vault the railing, and speak with Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second device on a silo. Accepting his request starts the mission.

2. Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Enter a room with broken windows, climb out, and descend the external ladder to the silo walkways. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the measuring device.

3. Dealing with the Bloodsuckers:

Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. You can fight them or evade them to reach Mongoose.

4. Confronting Yaryk Mongoose:

Upon reaching Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. You can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Neither choice significantly impacts the game. The peaceful option rewards you with the Malachite Pass and coupons. The Malachite Pass grants access to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible through main missions.
