Splitgate 2 Launch Date Announced

Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest

Revealed during Sony's February 2025 State of Play event, Splitgate 2 hosted its Open Alpha Playtest between February 27th and March 3rd, 2025. This testing phase expanded beyond last year's PC-only Closed Alpha, supporting PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

The playtest welcomed all players without registration requirements. As highlighted in official communications, participants experienced fresh content including maps, weaponry, game variations, and a massive 24-player (8v8v8) multiplayer mode.

Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest

Developers concluded Splitgate 2's initial Closed Alpha Playtest on August 25, 2024, following a four-day testing period starting August 21st. Access was limited to invited participants and those who secured Alpha keys through Steam's "Request Access" feature or by watching designated Twitch streams for two hours to earn Twitch Drops.

While this early testing phase remained PC-exclusive, 1047 Games confirmed cross-platform support for the 2025 Alpha tests encompassing PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Xbox Game Pass Availability

Currently, there's no confirmation regarding Splitgate 2 joining Xbox Game Pass. The developers haven't announced any partnerships or inclusion plans with Microsoft's subscription service at this stage.
