Sims 1, 2 Poised for PC Resurgence
The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled their celebratory plans, exciting surprises may still be in store.
A recent Sims teaser subtly alluded to the series' first two installments, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential return of these classic titles. While official confirmation is pending, Kotaku sources hint at a possible announcement later this week: digital PC releases of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.
The possibility of console releases, and their timing, remains uncertain. However, given the potent appeal of nostalgia, it's highly improbable that EA would forgo the lucrative opportunity.
The Sims 1 and 2 are quite dated, and currently, legitimate ways to play them are extremely limited. Their re-release would undoubtedly be a welcome event for countless devoted fans.
