Rockstar Releases Anniversary Update for Bully After Six Years
Rockstar, the renowned developers behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is exclusive to mobile platforms, leaving console and PC players without new content for now.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and focuses primarily on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother experience.
The update brings Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) to Android users with compatible devices, along with a refreshed app icon and added haptic feedback across both platforms. Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including problems in 'That Bitch' where Mandy’s locker was unpickable, 'Weed Killer' which stalled if the window was broken too soon, and 'The Rumble' where police cars would previously fall through the floor.
Additionally, the update addresses gameplay issues where enemies wouldn't engage Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat scenarios. It also fixes crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
For years, fans have been clamoring for Bully 2, but Rockstar appears to be focusing elsewhere. Although a sequel was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.
With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially given that many of the original developers have moved on from Rockstar. While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a welcome upgrade for mobile gamers.
For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
