Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Debuts Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects
The legendary Pokémon, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, are set to make their grand entrance during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. These powerful creatures bring with them exciting new Adventure Effects that can significantly enhance your Pokémon catching experience outside of battle. Make sure to leverage the Tour Pass to amplify your earnings throughout the event.
Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, envelops the area in electrically charged ice for a duration of 10 minutes. This effect immobilizes wild Pokémon, making them much easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, aiding you in achieving those coveted Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended by increments of 10 minutes, up to a maximum of two hours at a time and a total of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids, allowing you to gather Fusion Energy. Once you fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, the new moves, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, will take the place of Glaciate. These moves will revert back to Glaciate if the Pokémon are separated. It's important to note that Kyurem cannot currently learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You'll have the choice between two event badges during the Tour: the Black Version (Reshiram) and the White Version (Zekrom). Opting for the Black Version means that Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Choosing the White Version grants you Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
For a more rewarding experience, make sure to utilize the Tour Pass, which unlocks a variety of rewards and boosts your Adventure Effects. You can accumulate Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Achieving Major Milestones will enhance your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For those seeking the ultimate event experience, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version provides immediate access to an encounter with Victini, additional event-themed encounters, an exclusive avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a single-use item that enables you to become Lucky Friends with someone from your Friend List, significantly improving your next trade.
The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event will take place from February 24th to March 2nd, so mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable Pokémon adventure!
