Pokemon Go announces in-person event for later this year in Sao Paulo during gamescom latam
Niantic Announces Major Pokemon Go Event in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Niantic recently revealed exciting news for Brazilian Pokemon Go players at gamescom latam 2024. A large-scale event is planned for Sao Paulo in December, promising a city-wide takeover. While details remain scarce, the event is expected to be significant.
Alan Madujano (Head of Operations, LATAM), Eric Araki (Country Manager, Brazil), and Leonardo Willie (Community Manager, Emerging Markets) highlighted Pokemon Go's immense popularity in Brazil during the panel.
The event, scheduled for December, will collaborate with the Sao Paulo City Hall and shopping centers to ensure a fun and safe experience for all attendees.
Beyond the Sao Paulo event, Niantic is expanding the game's infrastructure. Partnerships with Brazilian city governments will lead to the creation of more PokeStops and Gyms across the country, enhancing gameplay for a wider audience.
Brazil's importance to Niantic is undeniable, particularly following the success of previous in-game item price reductions which boosted revenue. A locally produced video celebrating the game's impact further underscores this success.
Pokemon Go is available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. In-app purchases are available.
