Persona 3 Reload Still Unlikely to Include Female Protagonist from P3P
Atlus producer Kazushi Wada reiterates the unlikelihood of the Persona 3 Portable female protagonist (FeMC), Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato, appearing in Persona 3 Reload. This decision, explained in a recent PC Gamer interview, stems from significant development costs and time constraints.
Initially considered for inclusion, even as potential post-launch DLC alongside Episode Aigis - The Answer, the FeMC's addition proved unfeasible. Wada stated that the development time and associated costs were simply unmanageable. He emphasized the impossibility of releasing P3R with the FeMC within the planned timeframe, expressing regret to fans who hoped for her inclusion. "The more we discussed it, the more unlikely it became," he explained. "I'm really sorry to all of the fans who were holding out hope, but it is likely never going to happen."
This statement echoes previous comments made to Famitsu, where Wada highlighted the substantial challenges: the development time and cost would have been considerably greater than that of Episode Aigis, presenting insurmountable hurdles. Despite the FeMC's popularity in Persona 3 Portable, Wada's recent comments strongly suggest her appearance in Persona 3 Reload remains highly improbable.
