Path of Exile 2: Ritual Unleashed: Passives, Tributes, and Favors Unveiled
Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide
Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revived mechanic from previous leagues, detailing how to initiate them, their mechanics, the Pinnacle boss, and the unique reward system.
Identifying and Initiating Rituals

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a red pentagram icon. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, slotted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.
Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will spawn. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemies or mechanics. For example, one might introduce massive rat waves, while another might flood the area with life-draining blood.
To activate a Ritual, interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers. A large circle will appear; remain within it to defeat all enemies. Leaving the circle prematurely ends the event with no rewards. A map is considered complete only after all Rituals are successfully finished.
The King in the Mists: The Pinnacle Boss
The 'An Audience With The King' currency item, obtained through Ritual rewards, unlocks a fight with the King in the Mists, the Ritual Pinnacle Boss. Use this currency at your Realmgate on the Atlas map to access the encounter.
The King in the Mists' mechanics are similar to his campaign counterpart. For practice, revisit Act 1 Cruel difficulty and fight him in the Freythorn zone. Defeating him grants 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique PoE 2 items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.
The Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Ritual Passive Skill Tree, accessible via the Atlas Passive Skill Tree screen (bottom right), enhances Rituals. Nodes modify Tribute requirements, improve rewards, and boost unique currency drop rates. The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing the King in the Mists' difficulty. Each Notable node requires defeating the Pinnacle boss at an increased difficulty.
Notable Node Prioritization:
| Notable Delirium Passive | Effect | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Promised Devotion | 25% increased Altar skill damage; 50% less Tribute for Favors, appear 50% sooner | N/A |
| From The Mists | 2 extra enemy packs in Rituals | N/A |
| Reinvigorated Sacrifices | Revived monsters gain 20% Toughness, deal 10% more damage, but no longer penalize Tribute | From The Mists |
| Spreading Darkness | Always 4 Ritual Altars per map | N/A |
| Between Two Worlds | Rituals always contain a Wildwood Wisp (increased Tribute earned) | Spreading Darkness |
| Ominous Portents | 25% faster monster waves, 50% increased chance for Omens in Favors | N/A |
| He Approaches | 20% chance for revived monsters to be Magic or Rare; 50% chance for 'An Audience With The King' | Ominous Portents |
| Tempting Offers | Extra Favour re-roll; 25% less Tribute for re-rolls | N/A |
Prioritize 'From The Mists', 'Spreading Darkness', and 'Ominous Portents' first, then 'Tempting Offers' and 'He Approaches'.
Ritual Rewards: Tribute and Favors
Completed Rituals grant Tribute, a temporary currency exchanged for Favors (randomized items). More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock more Favors, including Rare gear and high-tier Currencies at higher Tribute levels. 'An Audience With The King' is exclusively a Favour reward.
Omens: Powerful Consumable Items
Omens are highly sought-after consumable items that modify the effects of other Currency items. Examples include Omens of Annulment (specifying removed modifiers) and Omens of Alchemy (specifying added modifiers). Consider trading Omens if unsure of their use.
All PoE 2 Omen Currencies:
Omen of Sinistral Alchemy, Omen of Dextral Alchemy, Omen of Sinistral Coronation, Omen of Dextral Coronation, Omen of Refreshment, Omen of Resurgence, Omen of Corruption, Omen of Amelioration, Omen of Sinistral Exaltation, Omen of Dextral Exaltation, Omen of Greater Annulment, Omen of Whittling, Omen of Sinistral Erasure, Omen of Dextral Erasure, Omen of Sinistral Annulment, Omen of Dextral Annulment, Omen of Greater Exaltation.

Beyond Favors, Ritual enemies drop high-tier Currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.). Unlike the Simulacrum boss, the King in the Mists only has a chance to drop Uniques from a Ritual-exclusive pool.
