NieR: Automata - Where To Get The Engine Blade
Quick Links
NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans.
Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV makes an appearance during your first playthrough. Here's how to locate it and its key stats.
Where To Find The Engine Blade in NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress the story until you return as 2B. Alternatively, use Chapter Select to access Chapter 9 for quicker acquisition. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exit the access point room and proceed right, following the path with a 2D camera perspective. Pass a fenced area, climb some broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially crushing presses. After crossing the press-laden belt, ascend to a cylindrical area with spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. Move forward to shift the camera angle, triggering another 2D platforming section. Jump across the presses, following the path left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.
Caution: Exploding enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach the chest.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon is upgradeable four times, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 attacks (requires finding the Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, providing more predictable damage output.
