Pokémon GO: Morpeko Arrives, Dynamax/Gigantamax Teased!

Get ready for significant updates to Pokémon GO! Developer Niantic has hinted at the arrival of Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, initially seen in Pokémon Sword and Shield. This exciting news follows the confirmation of Morpeko's addition to the game.

The upcoming season promises "big changes, big battles, and…big Pokémon," strongly suggesting the implementation of these size-altering mechanics. Morpeko, known for its form-changing abilities, will be introduced with a Charged Attack that alters its form during battle. Niantic stated, "Coming soon: Morpeko will charge into Pokémon GO, changing the way you battle! Certain Pokémon—like Morpeko—will be able to change form in battle by using a Charged Attack, unleashing new possibilities for you and your battle team."

While specifics remain under wraps, the arrival of Morpeko fuels speculation about the introduction of other Galar region Pokémon like Mimikyu and Aegislash. The current Shared Skies season ends September 3rd, and the next season is widely anticipated to focus on Galar Pokémon, further fueling the Dynamax/Gigantamax rumors. Whether Power Spots, the original locations for these mechanics, will be implemented in Pokémon GO remains to be seen.
