Minecraft Movie Lego Sets Gives Insight Into Which Mobs Will Appear in the Jack Black Film
Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs
Ahead of the live-action Minecraft movie's April release, Lego has announced two new sets offering glimpses into the film's action-packed scenes. As reported by Games Radar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and the Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, including minifigures of key characters like Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's Garbage Man.
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle. Momoa's character is shown battling a zombie astride a giant chicken (the scale remains unclear). The set also features Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) showcases a large-scale battle in an overworld village, featuring the Nether's Ghast. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the movie's theatrical debut on April 4th. The film's initial trailer faced criticism for the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world, a reaction acknowledged by the director and producer in a November interview with IGN. They expressed confidence in their approach, stating they "were ready for everything."
