Minecraft Live 2025 Unveils Vibrant Visuals and Flying Happy Ghast

Minecraft Live 2025 has wrapped up, and Mojang has unveiled an exciting lineup of updates and new content for the iconic game. The year's first game drop, dubbed "Spring to Life," is set to launch on March 25, enhancing the Overworld with a host of features designed to make biomes feel more immersive and alive. Players can look forward to new variants of cows, pigs, and chickens, as well as enchanting ambient additions like the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and the soft whispers of sand, all contributing to a richer exploration experience.

The second game drop, although unnamed, promises intriguing additions to the Minecraft universe. A new block, the Dried Ghast, will be introduced, which can be rehydrated to spawn a Ghastling—a smaller, baby version of the Ghast. With care, the Ghastling can mature into a Happy Ghast. Players can craft a Ghast harness to ride the Happy Ghast, which can carry up to four players at once, adding a new dimension to aerial exploration and teamwork.

This event will take place in Midport Village, where players can join Steve and his movie companions in a multiplayer experience, defending the village from a piglin attack through three mini-games. Participants who complete all challenges during the event, running from March 25 to April 7, will earn the exclusive Yearn cape.

Mojang also shared insights from their offices in Sweden, explaining their stance on not developing a Minecraft 2, keeping the game non-free-to-play, and avoiding the use of generative AI in game development.
