Mastering Monster Capture Techniques in Monster Hunter Wilds
Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is a blast, but if you're aiming to collect all their parts, you'll need to master the art of capturing them. Let's dive into how you can effectively capture these beasts and gather the necessary tools.
Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward yet requires precise timing. The key is to weaken the monster first. You'll know it's weak when your Palico alerts you, or you see signs like a skull icon over the monster on your minimap, or the monster itself starts limping or drooling, indicating low HP.
Once the monster is weakened, it's time to set your trap. You have two options: a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap. Place the trap on the ground and lure the monster into it. As soon as the monster is trapped and incapacitated, quickly throw one or two Tranq Bombs at it to complete the capture. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, tailored to your weapon and playstyle.
Successfully capturing a monster will conclude your quest, sending you back to Base Camp with your prize.
How to Get Traps and Tranq Items
While your Palico might occasionally set traps for you, it's wise to come prepared with your own. There are two types of traps you can use: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Net, which can be made from either Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll require a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.
For your Tranq items, crafting a Tranq Bomb involves combining a Sleep Herb with a Parashroom. These Tranq Bombs can then be paired with Throwing Knives to create Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to produce Tranq Ammo.
