Mastering Support in Marvel Rivals: A Tier List of Strategist Characters

Marvel Rivals boasts a diverse roster of iconic characters, but while damage dealers often steal the spotlight, strategic support units are crucial for team survival. This guide ranks the seven currently available support characters, focusing on their healing and buffing capabilities. While Jeff the Land Shark enjoys popularity, he's not the only strategist worth considering.

Mantis excels as a healer, boosting ally damage by consuming orbs (which regenerate automatically; headshots provide instant orb recovery). While fragile, her effectiveness is amplified by skilled headshot execution, making her accessible to both beginners and experienced players. Her damage output is limited, focusing primarily on support.

Luna Snow, another top-tier strategist, offers a versatile approach. Her primary attack heals allies while also damaging foes. Her Ice Art ability enhances healing and damage, and her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, creates an area-of-effect (AoE) that either heals or damages depending on target proximity. Her ease of use and emphasis on positioning make her ideal for new players. However, her damage potential remains secondary to her support role.

A Tier

Adam Warlock and Cloack & Dagger

Adam Warlock's standout ability is his multi-teammate revive. His Ultimate, Quantum Zone, brings back fallen allies with temporary invincibility, even allowing multiple revives of the same character. Beyond revives, his Avatar Life Stream heals allies, and Soul Bond shares damage across allies while providing a heal-over-time effect.

Cloak & Dagger provides a unique blend of support and damage. Cloak's attack heals allies or damages enemies, offering self-sustainability through healing over time. Dagger focuses on damage and applying Vulnerability debuffs. Dark Teleportation boosts ally movement speed and provides invisibility.

B Tier

Rocket Raccoon, Jeff, and Loki in Marvel Rivals.

Jeff the Land Shark, despite his popularity, falls short of higher-tier healers in prolonged fights. His simplicity, while beneficial for newcomers, lacks the strategic depth of Mantis or Warlock.

Loki's effectiveness hinges on player skill and strategic positioning. He heals allies and summons decoys that mimic his actions, but careful illusion placement is crucial to avoid environmental obstructions. His Ultimate allows shapeshifting into any hero for 15 seconds, utilizing their abilities.

Rocket Raccoon deviates from traditional healing, offering utility and damage. His Respawn Machine revives allies, but his kit leans towards hybrid DPS rather than pure support. His performance depends heavily on player skill, and his small size makes him a vulnerable target.

Ultimately, the best support character depends on individual playstyle and enjoyment. This tier list serves as a guide, but personal preference should always be the deciding factor.

Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
