Lunar Event Returns to Pokémon GO

Get Ready for the Pokémon GO Lunar New Year 2025 Celebration!

Niantic has announced the Pokémon GO Lunar New Year 2025 event, running from January 29th to February 2nd. This event promises a wealth of opportunities to catch Lucky Pokémon, Shiny Pokémon, and earn valuable rewards.

Event Highlights:

• Date: Wednesday, January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time.
• Increased Lucky Pokémon Chances: Boost your chances of getting Lucky Pokémon through trades and becoming Lucky Friends.
• Boosted Wild Encounters: Prepare for increased encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini, including their Shiny forms! Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi will also be hatching from 2km Eggs.
• Rewarding Research: Complete Lunar New Year-themed Field Research and Timed Research tasks for Stardust, XP, Zygarde Cells, and Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers enhanced rewards, including two Lucky Eggs and an incubator.
• Collection Challenge: A special Collection Challenge will reward players with extra Stardust for trading.
• PokeStop Showcases: Showcase your Lunar New Year Pokémon at PokeStops for potential item bundle rewards.

This event coincides with Pokémon GO's ninth anniversary celebrations and precedes Pokémon GO Tour: Unova (February 21st-23rd in Los Angeles and New Taipei City, global event in March).
