LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton that stretches over three feet in length. This set features minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is famously displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public at the LEGO Store.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, designed for adults aged 18 and above, includes 3,145 pieces, making it ideal for display purposes rather than play. It may feature some advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders.
Understanding the scale of this set from images can be difficult, but the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide a helpful reference. The skeleton's skull is similar to the standalone LEGO T-rex skull set, which my son has built and looks fantastic. However, the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: T-Rex Skeleton
The T-rex skeleton boasts articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail are adjustable. Like many LEGO movie-themed sets, it includes hidden Easter eggs for builders to discover. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the size of LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter sets, it is rapidly expanding. I eagerly anticipate more adult-focused sets like this T-rex skeleton in the future.
