Japanese GBA Racing Game Now on Switch Online

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack adds two classic F-Zero GBA racers!

This exciting addition brings two iconic titles to the service. F-Zero: GP Legend, a globally released favorite, joins the Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax, marking its long-awaited Western debut.

The F-Zero series, celebrating over 30 years since its 1990 debut, is renowned for its groundbreaking speed and challenging gameplay. A critical success for Nintendo, its influence can be seen in other racing franchises like SEGA's Daytona USA. F-Zero pushed the boundaries of console technology in its time, delivering some of the fastest racing experiences on SNES and beyond.

Like Nintendo's Mario Kart, F-Zero features intense races against opponents, navigating treacherous tracks and battling for supremacy in your high-tech "F-Zero machine." Fans of the series will recognize Captain Falcon, the franchise's star racer, who also features prominently in the Super Smash Bros. series.

F-Zero: GP Legend, initially released in Japan in 2003 and worldwide in 2004, is joined by F-Zero Climax, which launched in Japan in 2004 and has remained a region exclusive until now. This marks the first new F-Zero game in almost two decades, preceding last year's F-Zero 99 for the Switch. Game designer Takaya Imamura has previously cited Mario Kart's popularity as a contributing factor to the F-Zero series' extended hiatus.
