Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Dual Outfit Effects Guide
Quick Links
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered offers an exhilarating blend of action and strategic gameplay, enhanced by extensive weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're sneaking past machines or engaging in intense melee and ranged combat, the right outfit can make all the difference. However, there are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible within the remastered version, though it comes with certain limitations. Let's delve into how you can achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the ability to combine the effects of two outfits, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing players to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you can now look stylish without sacrificing performance.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
Before you can use the effects of two outfits, there are key prerequisites to consider. This method doesn't work with all outfits; one can be any outfit of your choice, while the other must be one of these three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These specific outfits are accessible only within the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you won't be able to use this method right at the game's start. Thankfully, you don't need to finish the base game to access the DLC.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
To acquire the Banuk Werak Runner, you must first reach the Frozen Wilds expansion area by defeating a new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue icon) and purchase the outfit with the following resources:
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this mission can be tough, or switch to Story mode for an easier path to the outfit. The process for acquiring the Adept version is identical but is only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you can stop exploring the Frozen Wilds if you wish.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
To harness the effects of two outfits, first, equip your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits mentioned. Although these outfits don't add to your stats, they offer automatic healing after taking damage, which can be a game-changer.
This technique allows you to maintain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, taking minimal damage and healing automatically with the Banuk Werak outfits' perk.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates quicker than that of the Banuk Werak Runner, so if you have them, they're the better choice.
