A new mini-game is also introduced. Details are scarce, but it involves targeting a holiday drone for special rewards.

The update includes options to manage seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Navigate to Settings > Gameplay > Seasonal Event Content to select:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reception

Following the December 16th announcement, the update received largely positive feedback, with many fans creatively dubbing Eve "Christmas Eve." However, some players questioned the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content was also a point of contention. The limited replayability of a single-player title is a factor in this feedback.
