Hideaki Nishino Elevated to Sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hiroki Totoki Promoted to Sony CEO
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan and the subsequent split leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst.
A concurrent press release also revealed that Sony Corporation's CFO, Hiroki Totoki, is being promoted to President and CEO, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will assume the role of CFO.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. He will now oversee all SIE operations and lead the platform business group. Hermen Hulst will continue as head of PlayStation Studios.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences, and thanked Hulst for his continued leadership. He highlighted plans for expanding PlayStation's IP and fostering community growth.
