Analyst Matthew Ball's controversial suggestion that a $100 price point for AAA games could revitalize the industry sparked a debate. To gauge player sentiment, a survey was conducted, revealing surprising results. Over one-third of nearly 7,000 respondents indicated a willingness to pay $100 for a standard edition of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, despite Ubisoft's current practice of pushing expensive expanded editions.

Ball's assertion that a price hike could be beneficial for the gaming industry previously generated significant online buzz. Rockstar and Take-Two are positioned, in his view, to set a precedent for other publishers.

Rockstar has confirmed updates for Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online in 2025, aiming to align the PC version with the enhanced PS5 and Xbox Series X|S experiences. While specifics remain undisclosed, the update likely extends beyond mere visual improvements.

The GTA+ subscription service, currently exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, could potentially launch on PC. Additionally, some features present in the console versions of Grand Theft Auto Online, such as Hao's high-performance vehicle modifications, are absent from the PC version. The possibility of this advanced tuning becoming available on PC is high.
