  • Genshin Impact made a stunning appearance on the big screen during Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
  • The latest trailer introduces the upcoming character Flins.
  • Offline activities at the event have previewed a new region called Nod-Krai.

If you attended the Gamescom conference in Cologne or watched Opening Night Live yesterday, you already know that Genshin Impact left a powerful impression. A brand-new trailer showcasing its latest character, along with hands-on offline experiences, ensured the game stood out at the event.

The newest character revealed is Flins. This significant addition is expected to debut in the next annual expansion. As a lantern-wielding warrior, Flins carries a somber appearance, but this brooding figure seems more than capable of overwhelming a variety of foes.

Based on the gameplay trailer, Flins appears to use a polearm and possesses several area-of-effect damage skills. Avid players are likely already thinking about how to fit him into their team compositions using Genshin Impact tier lists.

Strong Presence

Given the reported half-million-dollar budget, it's no surprise the trailer became a major Gamescom highlight. However, Flins' on-screen premiere was complemented by an offline exhibit, where a dedicated booth gave attendees a sneak peek into Nod-Krai, the next major region set to arrive.

Gamescom also features various stage events, cosplay showcases, and activities centered on Genshin Impact. With E3 now a thing of the past, miHoYo is clearly expanding its international presence by participating in major gatherings like Gamescom.
