Making a comeback from Chapter 2 Season 7, the Rail Gun re-emerges in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, albeit with slightly reduced damage. Despite the nerfs, it remains a potent weapon for those seeking victory.

While not excessively rare, the Rail Gun's acquisition relies on chance. Its high-powered nature makes it a desirable addition to any player's arsenal.

How to Acquire the Rail Gun in Fortnite

Found in Epic and Legendary rarities, the Rail Gun isn't sold by NPCs. Players must rely on their luck with Chests and Floor Loot. The abundance of loot sources in Chapter 6 Season 1, including loot caves and hidden vaults, increases the odds.

Your best bet is to diligently search Chests throughout the map. The sheer number of chests available should improve your chances of finding this powerful weapon.

  • A high-tech rifle; charge it up to aim and fire a single, powerful shot, effective against enemies behind cover.

The Rail Gun requires approximately a 3-second charge time. The shot can be held for an additional 3 seconds before automatic firing. Accuracy is challenging due to the inability to cancel the charge, and the predictable aiming animation.

Despite its impressive structure and headshot damage, the Rail Gun's low fire rate and difficulty in landing shots might make other weapons, such as a Hunting Rifle, a more reliable choice. However, its unique gameplay makes it a worthwhile weapon to experiment with.
