FF7 Remake Part 3 Will Again Release on PS5 First, Other Platforms Later
FF7 Remake Part 3: PS5 Launch Confirmed, Multi-Platform Release Planned

The highly anticipated final installment of the FF7 Remake trilogy will debut on the PlayStation 5, according to producers Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi. This confirmation, shared during a January 23, 2025 interview with 4Gamer, addresses concerns from PlayStation fans following the staggered releases of previous installments.

PS5 Launch and Beyond:
While the PS5 is mid-lifecycle, the possibility of a PS6 release before the entire FF7 Remake trilogy concludes remains uncertain. Kitase's reassurance confirms the PS5 as the initial launch platform for Part 3.
Release Date Still Under Wraps:

Square Enix remains tight-lipped about the release date. However, Hamaguchi, in a Famitsu interview (January 23, 2025), reported significant progress. Development commenced alongside Part 2, accelerating after its February 2024 launch. Leveraging assets from previous games and a completed story outline suggests a potentially imminent release. Kitase expressed satisfaction with the completed storyline, hinting at a satisfying conclusion for fans.
Timed Exclusivity Expected:

A March 6, 2024 Washington Post report indicated PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the FF7 Remake trilogy. Following the precedent set by previous installments (one-year exclusivity for FF7 Remake on PS4, six-month exclusivity for FF7 Remake Intergrade on PS5, and timed exclusivity for FF7 Rebirth), Part 3 is expected to follow a similar pattern, launching exclusively on PS5 before releasing on other platforms.
Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift:

Despite the positive reception of the FF7 Remake series, Square Enix's March 31, 2024 financial report revealed declining HD title sales. To counter this, the company announced an aggressive multi-platform strategy encompassing Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. This suggests future Square Enix titles, including potential future FF7 installments, may see broader releases beyond PlayStation.
