"Dune: Awakening Delayed Three Weeks for Beta-Driven Improvements"
The highly anticipated open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's films, has been rescheduled for release on June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom announced this delay, but offered a silver lining: players eager to dive into the game early can do so starting June 5 by purchasing the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition.
Funcom shared the news via a tweet:

The decision to delay the game came after valuable feedback from the ongoing Persistent Closed Beta. Funcom stated that this additional time will allow the team to "cook" a bit longer, ensuring the implementation of crucial changes and enhancements requested by beta testers. This delay also paves the way for a large-scale beta weekend next month, offering more players the chance to experience Dune: Awakening and contribute their feedback.
While the delay may disappoint some fans eager to explore Arrakis sooner, Funcom is set to host a combat livestream today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event will delve deeper into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, providing fans with more to look forward to.
Here at IGN, we're thrilled about Dune: Awakening. As we mentioned in our hands-on preview, "It's easy to be skeptical about an MMO survival game set in the Dune universe, but after experiencing bouts of dehydration and sunstroke, my day in Arrakis convinced me that Dune: Awakening is definitely one to watch."
