Divine Sin 2: Unlocking Bloodmoon Island's Enchantments
Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and accessible only via a destroyed bridge, presents a significant hurdle in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and continue your adventure.
The Spirit Bridge Route
The remnants of a bridge, northeast of Cloisterwood (near Jahan and Witch Alice), offer a path to Bloodmoon Island. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken segments. Crossing requires:
- Gloves of Teleportation: Teleport each party member individually across the gaps.
- Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable individual crossings. This is limited by party composition.
- Teleporter Pyramids: Use two pyramids. One companion crosses using translocation, then the others teleport to their location.
- Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island, unlocks the waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.
The Ferryman's Flawed Promise
An undead ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is a trap: only undead characters (like Fane) survive.
- With Fane: Fane takes the ferry, unlocks the waypoint, and the rest of the party fast travels.
- Without Fane: Use at least two Teleporter Pyramids. A companion takes the ferry (dying upon arrival), then the others teleport and resurrect them. This method is less efficient than the bridge route.
Avoiding the Ferryman's Trap
It's strongly advised to avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman. He retaliates with a deadly Deathfog spell. However, for the brave (and prepared), a quick save before attacking is recommended. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. The bridge remains the most reliable and often quicker method for parties without Fane.
