Released in Steam Early Access in 2024, Fields of Mistria garnered overwhelmingly positive reception. With a major update already released and another planned for March 2025, this $13.99 farming simulator is generating significant buzz. But is it worth the investment in its current early access state? The answer, based on extensive playtime and widespread critical acclaim, is a resounding yes.

Fields of Mistria earned top spots on The Escapist's best games of 2024 list and even secured Patch Magazine's 2024 Game of the Year award. Its charm lies in its endearing characters, engaging dialogue, and captivating storylines. The romance aspects are well-executed, complementing the core farming, fishing, mining, and crafting gameplay. Even after over 100 hours of play, the game's extensive content keeps the experience fresh and rewarding.

Unlike some similar titles, Fields of Mistria avoids stereotypical, one-dimensional NPCs. The inhabitants of Mistria are richly developed, even those not involved in romantic storylines.
