Devil May Cry Anime Release Date Announced

Netflix has officially announced the release date for the much-anticipated Devil May Cry anime, set to premiere on their streaming platform on April 3. This exciting news was shared alongside a new teaser trailer on X, featuring the iconic track by Limp Bizkit, perfectly setting the tone for the series.

The Devil May Cry anime was first announced in 2018 and is slated to feature an eight-episode first season. The project is brought to life by Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind the acclaimed Castlevania series, and is being animated by Studio Mir, renowned for their work on The Legend of Korra, X-Men '97, and other notable series.

While the plot remains shrouded in mystery, it seems the anime will focus on Dante, the series' iconic protagonist, during the timeline of the first three Devil May Cry games rather than the more recent Devil May Cry 5. However, specific connections to the games have not been confirmed. Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who notably voices Nero in the video game series.

The last installment in the Devil May Cry franchise was Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. This game marked a triumphant return for the series, which had taken a brief hiatus following the 2013 release of DmC: Devil May Cry. Devil May Cry 5 stands out as a top-tier action game, highly recommended for fans, especially those who have recently enjoyed titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
