"Days Gone Remastered: New Feature to Slow Game Speed"
Sony's Bend Studio has unveiled a suite of accessibility features coming to Days Gone Remastered, offering enhanced support for players seeking a more tailored and inclusive gaming experience. Set to launch on April 25, 2025, the remastered edition not only brings visual and gameplay upgrades but also introduces meaningful accessibility improvements designed to accommodate a wider range of players.
One of the standout additions is the Game Speed option, which allows players to slow down gameplay to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the original speed. As explained by Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, this feature is particularly beneficial during intense moments—such as surviving overwhelming horde attacks, a core element of Days Gone's gameplay. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode, this adjustment ensures players can engage with challenging combat scenarios at a pace that suits their comfort and ability.
Beyond Game Speed, the remaster includes several other accessibility enhancements. Players can customize subtitle colors for better readability, enable a fully adjustable High Contrast Mode, and take advantage of UI Narration to assist with navigation. Additionally, Collectible Audio Cues provide auditory feedback for locating in-game items, improving spatial awareness.
A notable quality-of-life upgrade is the expansion of the auto-complete QTE function. Previously limited to Easy difficulty, this option is now available across all difficulty levels—from Easy to Survival II—giving players greater control over how they experience key action sequences.
Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone in a future update. However, certain features related to input feedback and control customization will require the use of a compatible controller.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February and includes a host of new features, including an upgraded photo mode, permadeath mode, and speedrun tools. Players who own the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for $10. With its thoughtful accessibility additions, the remaster aims to deliver a more flexible and immersive experience for all riders hitting the road in 2025.
