Clash Heroes Rises Again: Supercell Announces Project R.I.S.E.
Supercell, the Finnish game developer, has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they've revealed a revitalized project: Project R.I.S.E.
The Full Story
Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Confirming earlier rumors, Supercell has shelved the game, much like its predecessor, Clash Mini. However, Project R.I.S.E. offers a fresh take, a social action RPG roguelite set within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell released a video announcement featuring game lead Julien Le Cadre. He directly addressed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, but emphasized the positive: Project R.I.S.E. remains a Clash game, and importantly, it's now a multiplayer action RPG.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares similarities with Clash Heroes but is a completely rebuilt game. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to explore The Tower, a mysterious location. Each playthrough features a different floor, with the objective of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike its predecessor, Project R.I.S.E. prioritizes cooperative gameplay with diverse characters, shifting away from solo PvE dungeon crawling.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
