"Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 2: New Tomb Map and Enhanced QoL Updates"
Treyarch is marking 115 Day with a treasure trove of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the exciting reveal of a new map called The Tomb. This January 15 celebration is a special holiday for Call of Duty players, featuring a comprehensive blog breakdown detailing all the zombie-themed surprises awaiting fans in the near future. The spotlight of today's announcements is The Tomb, a new sandy Zombies map set to debut with the launch of Season 2 on January 28. This means players will have another thrilling addition to the Zombies universe, following the Citadelle des Morts from Season 1, in just under two weeks.
According to Treyarch, the story follows Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya as they heed Gabriel Krafft’s last words to an excavation site to retrieve the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb is built on the remnants of ancient burial grounds with origins dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remaining undisturbed until the early 1900s. The team hints that what lies beneath may be deeper than anyone ever imagined.
The Tomb is described as a mysterious area with connections to a British archeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though details on its integration into the larger Zombies narrative remain scarce. In terms of gameplay, this new map promises an experience akin to Liberty Falls, the vibrant, small-town map that debuted with Black Ops 6 in October. Treyarch emphasizes "tighter play spaces with a focus on replayability," encouraging players to uncover the numerous Easter eggs hidden within The Tomb.
Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon "inspired by our past" and the return of an iconic SMG, though specifics are still under wraps. Season 2 will also bring a host of quality-of-life improvements, including new features long requested by the community. Players will be able to track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode will introduce a co-op pause option, allowing the party leader to pause a match mid-run. Additionally, HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated, and players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players can enjoy double the GobbleGum earn rate, as well as double player, weapon, and battle pass XP from now until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch also shared some impressive stats about the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have logged over 480 million hours into Black Ops 6 Zombies. The team's goal with Directed Mode was to expand the Zombies community by guiding new players through the Main Quests, and the results are promising. Since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, rising from 3.38% on November 14 to 8.23% today.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the voices of the Zombies characters when The Tomb goes live, especially after Activision announced last month that some beloved Zombies characters were recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
