Infected and Nuketown Arrive This Week

Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, announced via Twitter (X) that "Infected" mode will launch tomorrow, followed by the classic Nuketown map on November 1st. Nuketown, originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), is a beloved map set in a 1950s-era nuclear test site. This release strategy aligns with Activision's earlier promise of regular post-launch content updates for Black Ops 6, which launched on October 25th with 11 standard multiplayer modes.

Black Ops 6 Update Fixes Bugs, More Patches Planned

A recent update addressed several issues across multiplayer and Zombies modes. Improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in several key game modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). Activision stated they are actively monitoring XP rates to ensure fair progression. Here's a summary of some resolved issues:

  • Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, Bailey operator animation, and "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
  • Maps: Fixed exploits allowing players to leave the intended playspace on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also addressed.
  • Multiplayer: Addressed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, fixed a Private Match forfeit bug, and resolved a persistent sound issue with the Dreadnought scorestreak.

While some issues, such as player deaths upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy, remain, developers Treyarch and Raven Software are actively working on fixes. Despite these post-launch challenges, Black Ops 6 is widely considered one of the best Call of Duty titles in recent years, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
