Hez2: A Popular Moroccan Card Game
Hez2 is a classic Moroccan card game perfect for family gatherings. This turn-based game supports up to four players (one, two, or three players are also possible). The goal is to be the first to get rid of all your cards.
Gameplay:
Players take turns playing a card that matches either the suit or rank of the card previously played. If a player has no matching card, they must draw a card from the deck. Even with a playable card, a player may choose to draw instead.
Special Cards:
-
2: If a player plays a Two, the next player must draw two cards. If that player also has a Two, they can choose to play it (forcing the next player to draw four), and so on, until a player without a Two draws the cumulative number of cards.
-
7: Playing a Seven allows the player to change the required suit/color for the next card played.
-
10: The player must play another card immediately. If the Ten is their last card, they must draw a card.
-
12: (Three or four player games only) Playing a Twelve skips the next player's turn.
The Game Ends:
The game ends when a player plays their last card (with special rules applying if the last card is a Two or Ten). That player wins!
The Deck:
Hez2 uses a 40-card deck with four suits:
- 10 Copas (Tbaye9)
- 10 Espadas (Syouf)
- 10 Oros (D'hab)
- 10 Bastos (Zrawéte)
Each suit contains cards numbered 1-7 and 10-12.
Hez2 is fun for everyone! Enjoy!
