Nintendo Switch 2'de Büyük Depolama İyileştirmesine İlişkin Sızıntı İpuçları
Leaked GameStop SKUs Suggest Nintendo Switch 2 Will Support microSD Express Cards
Recent leaks point towards a significant upgrade for the Nintendo Switch 2's storage capabilities. Several GameStop stock keeping units (SKUs), seemingly related to upcoming Switch 2 accessories, reveal the potential inclusion of microSD Express card support. This suggests a substantial improvement over the current Switch's UHS-I microSD card support.
The Switch 2's mass production reportedly commenced in late 2024, possibly as early as September, fueled by a surge of hardware leaks throughout Q4 2024. These latest leaks, shared by Reddit user Opposite-Chemistry96 in early January 2025, include SKUs for "Switch 2 Exp Micro SD Card" accessories in 256GB and 512GB capacities. This strongly indicates support for the advanced microSD Express standard.
A Massive Speed and Capacity Boost
The current Switch's UHS-I standard offers theoretical maximum transfer speeds around 104 MB/s, with real-world performance often peaking at approximately 95 MB/s. In contrast, microSD Express cards boast transfer speeds nearing 985 MB/s—a staggering 900% increase. This dramatic improvement is attributed to the use of the NVMe protocol, enabling highly parallel data transfer, similar to modern high-speed SSDs.
The capacity advantage is equally impressive. While UHS-I cards top out at 2TB, microSD Express cards can reach up to 128TB—a 6,300% increase. GameStop's leaked pricing suggests a 256GB Switch 2 microSD Express card will retail at $49.99, while the 512GB version is listed at $84.99.
Further Leaks and Nintendo's Timeline
Beyond the microSD cards, SKUs for a Switch 2 carrying case and two "deluxe" cases (priced at $19.99 and $29.99 respectively) were also discovered. While these are likely unofficial accessories, their appearance adds to the growing body of evidence. Nintendo has previously committed to an official Switch 2 reveal before the end of its current fiscal year (March 31, 2025), leaving just a few months for the official announcement.
