Yakuza Kiwami 3 Hinted by RGG Website Leak
Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio appear to have accidentally leaked Yakuza Kiwami 3, indicating that an official announcement may be imminent.
Excitement spread across X/Twitter and Reddit as users spotted references to Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the developer’s official website. The initial mention, which simply alluded to a third installment in the Yakuza remake series, has since been removed. However, fans managed to capture screenshots of the apparent leak before it was taken down.

The Kiwami series represents RGG Studio's remakes of the classic Yakuza titles. For instance, Yakuza Kiwami 1, released in 2016, is a reimagining of the first Yakuza game, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 covers the second. Although Yakuza Kiwami 3 has not been officially announced, if RGG confirms it as anticipated, we can reasonably expect it to be a remake of the 2009 PlayStation 3 release, Yakuza 3.
Should the Yakuza developer have news to share about Yakuza Kiwami 3, it wouldn't come as a complete shock. The studio is set to hold its annual RGG Summit on September 24, followed immediately by an RGG Direct presentation. Fans were already anticipating significant updates for the Like a Dragon franchise, with the alleged website leak surfacing just one week before the event begins.
In April 2024, Like a Dragon series director Masayoshi Yokoyama also shared his thoughts on Yakuza Kiwami 3. While he advised fans not to get overly excited about a third remake while the team focused on other projects, he hinted that it remained a possibility for the future.
“I’ll simply state that I believe we will undertake Kiwami 3 at some point,” Yokoyama remarked at the time. “I’m confident it will happen someday.”
