Ubisoft will unveil two hours of gameplay from Assassin's Creed Shadows tomorrow
The upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows livestream will showcase protagonists Naoe and Yasuke tackling quests, exploring Harima Province, and battling formidable foes. Developers will demonstrate gameplay and answer viewer questions, offering insights into their approach to this latest installment.
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows plunges players into a world of samurai conflict and political intrigue. Initially slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game's launch has been shifted.
Industry insider Tom Henderson shed light on the delay, citing the need to rectify historical and cultural inaccuracies, and to further refine the game's polish. While rumors of Yasuke's removal circulated, Henderson clarifies that his role will be adjusted, not eliminated.
The delay stems from several factors, including the late integration of historical consultants and internal communication challenges. From a technical standpoint, the game isn't yet ready for release. While bug fixes are underway, more extensive gameplay adjustments will require additional time. However, Henderson's sources suggest a February 14th, 2025 release date is now the target, with developers confident in meeting this revised deadline.
