Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the epic conclusion to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. The film hit theaters on May 19, 2005, and it was the last Star Wars movie directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.

Fans eagerly anticipated Revenge of the Sith because it promised to show Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A key mystery was the fate of the other Jedi. The film introduced Order 66, a sinister plot by Palpatine that turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars. With thousands of Jedi in service, it was logical that some would escape Palpatine's grasp—especially those who needed to survive for the Original Trilogy.

From the canon Star Wars stories, we've identified around a few dozen Jedi who survived Order 66. We've ranked the top 10 who've had a significant impact on the Star Wars universe. Some survived only briefly, while others lived on much longer, and in some cases, their ultimate fate remains a mystery. Regardless, each of these Jedi lived to fight another day after Palpatine issued the command, "Execute Order 66."

For this list, the criteria are clear: these characters had to have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, whether as a Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. This excludes Force-users like Maul or Palpatine himself, as well as those like Jod Na Nawood who never officially joined the Jedi Order or set foot in the Jedi Temple, despite receiving some training.

There was some debate about including Asajj Ventress. She spent over 20 years with Jedi Ky Narec, who trained her and considered her his Padawan on Rattatak. However, she never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council or other Jedi before Ky Narec's death. Coupled with her later turn to the Dark Side under Dooku, her status as a Jedi is ambiguous. Thus, she's an honorable mention.
