Toaplan Launches 25 Classic Arcade Games on Mobile
If you're a fan of classic shoot 'em ups, you'll want to take a look at the new app from Tatsujin, the game publishing studio founded by Masahiro Yuge, a legend from Toaplan. Toaplan, known for being the kings of arcade shooters since their founding in 1979, has inspired countless games with their innovative scrolling shooters. Now, celebrating 40 years of their legacy, Tatsujin has released Amusement Arcade Toaplan on Android, bringing 25 of Toaplan's classic arcade games to your mobile device, just as they were meant to be played.
Will You Play Amusement Arcade Toaplan?
The crown jewel of this collection is undoubtedly Truxton (1988), a legendary shoot 'em up that you can play for free. The app also includes demo versions of five other iconic titles: Tiger Heli, Wardner, Flying Shark, Snow Bros, and Teki-Paki. If you find yourself craving more, you have the option to purchase the full versions of these games.
The rest of the collection features Truxton II, Snow Bros. 2, Guardian, Slap Fight/Alcon, Twin Cobra, Rally Bike, Hellfire, Twin Hawk, Demon’s World, Zero Wing, Fire Shark, Out Zone, Vimana, Ghox, Fixeight, Dogyuun, Grind Stormer, Knuckle Bash, and Batsugun. Each of these titles is also available for individual purchase.
Gameplay is flexible with fully customizable touchscreen controls, and you can even connect a controller or arcade stick via Bluetooth for that authentic arcade feel. Don’t miss out on the Amusement Arcade Toaplan trailer below:
It’s Your Virtual Arcade
With Amusement Arcade Toaplan, you can create your own virtual arcade. Each game you download appears as a mini arcade machine that you can arrange as you see fit. Customize your space with chairs, potted plants, and even beds to enhance the arcade atmosphere.
The app also offers visual filters to replicate the nostalgic CRT look, along with various settings for difficulty, extra lives, and an invincibility mode that prevents you from losing. If you're a retro arcade gaming enthusiast, this collection is a must-have and is available on the Google Play Store.
