Announced during the Xbox showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2024, Threads of Time is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). While a release date remains unconfirmed, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions haven't been ruled out.

Generating considerable buzz, Threads of Time is poised to rival Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series. This retro-style RPG from indie studio Riyo Games promises a captivating story and charming characters.

"Riyo Games aims to create retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated in a press release. "Our journey began with a childhood promise—two friends playing RPGs on a CRT TV, dreaming of creating their own fantastical adventures."

Boasting stunning 2.5D pixel art, Threads of Time features a diverse cast journeying through various eras, from dinosaurs to robots. The epic narrative spans centuries, culminating in a quest to thwart a threat to the very fabric of time. Complementing the pixel art are high-quality anime cutscenes, enriching the game's intricate plot.

The party includes memorable characters like Rye (a swordsman from 1000 AD), Bo (a veterinarian from 12,000,000 BC), Rin (a kitsune from 2400 AD), and more.
