SHIFT UP's Stellar Blade shone brightly at the 2024 Korea Game Awards, sweeping up seven prestigious accolades, including the coveted Excellence Award. The awards ceremony, which took place at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) on November 13th, celebrated Stellar Blade's excellence in multiple categories such as Game Planning/Scenario, Graphics, Character Design, and Sound Design. This victory marks the fifth occasion where Stellar Blade's director and SHIFT UP CEO, Kim Hyung-tae, has been part of a game that triumphed at the Korea Game Awards. His previous successes include Magna Carta 2 for Xbox 360 and The War of Genesis 3 from 1999, both during his tenure at Softmax. He also played a key role in the 2012 PC game Blade and Soul as Art Director at NCSoft, and in SHIFT UP's Goddess of Victory: Nikke in 2023.
"In the beginning, there were doubts about our ability to produce a successful console game in Korea," Kim Hyung-tae remarked during his acceptance speech, as reported by Korean news outlet Econovill and translated via Google.
