Stellar Blade - PC Version in the Making?

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port of their critically acclaimed PS5 exclusive. While currently a Sony-exclusive due to their publishing partnership, the game's strong sales and positive reviews (an 82 average on OpenCritic from 124 reviews, and a #1 spot in US sales its launch month, outpacing titles like Helldivers 2 and Dragon's Dogma 2) have fueled discussions.

During a recent IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is "under consideration," although firm timing remains uncertain due to contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the shifting landscape of AAA game consumption towards PC, adding that exploring a PC release for Stellar Blade is actively being investigated due to its potential to increase the IP's value.

Strong Indications for a PC Port

Shift Up's previous financial report already suggested both a sequel and a PC port were being considered, reflecting the game's success. The recent comments from the CEO and CFO reinforce this interest. Given Sony's growing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (with God of War: Ragnarok being the latest example), a Stellar Blade PC port seems increasingly likely.

While the decision remains pending, Shift Up is concurrently focused on optimizing the PS5 version. Recent updates, however, introduced some graphical glitches, a problem the developer acknowledges and is actively addressing.
