Following a closed alpha phase, Smite 2's open beta is now freely available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam Deck. Alongside the launch of the open beta, Titan Forge Games has released a new patch for Smite 2, introducing new gods, game modes, and more.
Announced a year ago, Smite 2 promised a sequel to the beloved third-person MOBA, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5. The game offers an enhanced experience over its predecessor, with refined visuals and combat mechanics. It also features an overhauled item shop, enabling players to access various items regardless of their chosen god's classification. Similar to the original Smite, players embody gods from diverse cultures to engage in 5v5 battles and siege the enemy team. Now, after a closed alpha phase, the game is open to everyone.
As of January 14, Smite 2's open beta is available for free across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. The latest update includes new content, such as Aladdin, a god crafted specifically for Smite 2. Aladdin can run along walls and even revive after death thanks to his companion, which grants him three wishes. True to his legendary origins, Aladdin's ultimate ability allows him to use his lamp to capture enemies and force them into a 1v1 fight.

While the game is accessible on most major platforms, Nintendo Switch users will not be able to play Smite 2. The developer previously cited concerns about the console's ability to run the game smoothly. However, Titan Forge Games remains open to the possibility of a release on the Switch 2. Meanwhile, Smite fans can download and enjoy the open beta of this sequel on available platforms.
