The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is a fantastic drive for your gaming PC and PlayStation 5. It easily surpasses Sony's minimum speed requirements for the PS5, boasting sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and 6,300MB/s respectively. While not quite as fast as the 990 Pro, it's considerably faster than the standard 990 Evo. The key difference? This is a DRAM-less drive. For PS5 gaming, this makes no difference whatsoever. For PC gaming, the 990 Evo Plus utilizes HMB (host memory buffer), cleverly using a negligible amount of your system RAM to compensate for the lack of dedicated DRAM. Gamers will experience no noticeable performance gap between this and the 990 Pro.

One thing to note: it doesn't come with a pre-installed heatsink. However, its newer single-sided design is power-efficient and generates less heat than older SSDs.
