Ryan Reynolds' Early Efforts to Revive Deadpool and X-Men Film
Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the "early stages" of developing a new project that would bring together Deadpool and the X-Men in an ensemble film. According to THR, Reynolds envisions a movie where Deadpool, while still a key character, shares the spotlight with three or four other X-Men. This approach would allow the other characters to take center stage and be "used in unexpected ways," adding a fresh twist to the franchise.
This proposed film would stand independently from the X-Men movie being crafted by Hunger Games' writer Michael Lesslie. Reynolds is known for meticulously developing his ideas before presenting them to Marvel, much like he did with the early concept of Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially was envisioned as a low-budget road trip movie.
While this isn't the first time we've heard about Reynolds working on an ensemble project with Deadpool, this report offers more insight into the potential adventures of the Merc With a Mouth. As for which X-Men might join Deadpool, the possibilities are wide open. Deadpool has previously collaborated with various X-Men characters in his films, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
