Rust Unveils Major Update: Improved Cooking and Farming
Rust, the renowned multiplayer survival game, has just released a significant update known as The Crafting Update. This patch introduces a variety of new features designed to enhance players' creative possibilities and deepen the gameplay experience. One of the standout additions is the culinary workbench, where players can now cook dishes such as grilled chicken legs and enjoy them with a shot of Siberian vodka. Crafting these meals involves following specific recipes, and consuming well-prepared food grants players stat boosts and gameplay modifiers, adding a new strategic layer to survival.
Players can now raise chickens and chicks in dedicated coops, providing a home where these birds can live, lay eggs, and flourish. Each chick has four essential attributes to monitor: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. If any of these needs are neglected, the chicks won't survive. Chicken meat obtained from these birds will spoil over time, becoming unusable unless preserved in a working refrigerator. Conveniently, food items now display timers showing their expiration dates, helping players manage their resources more effectively.
For those with a sweet tooth, the game now features wild beehives that can be discovered on trees. Extracting honeycombs requires careful handling before relocating them to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. Handling bees can be dangerous, so players are advised to wear protective suits, use water as a deterrent, or even deploy flamethrowers to avoid painful stings. Additionally, a new weapon, the Bee Grenade, which looks like a jar of honey, has been introduced. When it breaks, it unleashes three swarms of aggressive bees, compelling players to scatter and seek safety.
The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, now boasting a separate tech tree dedicated to plumbing and electricity. This update empowers players to construct automated systems and even entire factories, revolutionizing the way they interact with the game's environment. In a move to enhance the gaming experience, developers have introduced premium servers. Access to these servers is exclusive to players whose Rust inventory is valued at a minimum of $15, aiming to create a more focused and enjoyable environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players.
