"Polytopia Introduces Weekly Challenges Mode"

The Battle of Polytopia has spiced up its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, adding a fresh competitive edge to this beloved 4X strategy game. Dive in to discover how this feature can elevate your gaming experience.

From Random to Structured

Previously, The Battle of Polytopia thrived on randomness, with its diverse enemies, resources, and maps keeping every match unpredictable. However, the new free update introduces a more structured form of competition. Now, every week, players are given the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field for all. The challenge? Achieve the highest score within 20 turns. You can attempt this challenge once per day, giving you a maximum of seven tries each week.

One of the exciting aspects of Weekly Challenges is that it allows players to test tribes they might not yet own. With 16 tribes available—four included in the base game and twelve more available for purchase ranging from $1 to $4—everyone gets to compete using the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

Absolutely, this new mode is set to invigorate the gameplay. It introduces a League system where all players start in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines whether you move up, down, or stay in the same league. The top third of players advance, the bottom third are relegated, and the middle group remains unchanged.

As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty ramps up. Starting with Easy AI in the Entry League, you'll face increasingly tough opponents, culminating in Crazy difficulty bots by the time you reach the Gold League. And don't worry, if you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
